United Women of Faith
Once again, our summer is flying by. It’s almost August and for our church that means it’s almost time for our 82nd annual Strawberry Social.

This year, the Social will be on Friday, August 8. We will be serving strawberries, biscuits, and ice cream between the hours of 5 and 7 p.m.

Please invite your family and friends to come join us on that evening at our church. This is the only fundraiser that our women’s group does during the year, and the majority of profit goes to approximately ten charities at the end of the year.

We know we can count on our church family to help make this a success.

On Wednesday, August 8, at 1:00 p.m., we will be setting up the church for the Social. If you’re available, many hands make light work. On Friday, we will need as many folks as we can get to keep the evening running smoothly, and to greet and serve our many guests. One highlight of the evening is our abundant bake sale. Please contribute what you can to fill our tables with yummy choices.

Please keep this event in your prayers as we prepare for another welcoming evening.

THANK YOU to all who made our Adult & Teen Challenge guests feel welcomed and loved. Also, kudos for providing a fantastic meal. We raised $160 above the $500 donation from the church.

Praise God for blessing us with the opportunity to serve and support these important Missions for Christ.

Old Time Worship Service and Church Picnic
On Sunday, August 17^th, we will celebrate many years of being in community at Claybanks United Methodist Church, hopefully with an old-time worship service and church picnic outdoors.

Our service will begin at 10:30 a.m., as usual, and we suggest bringing a lawn chair to sit in for the service. Following the service, we will have a church picnic. Hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad, baked beans, watermelon, and other traditional picnic items will be served by your Worship Design Team.

While you are encouraged to dress in an old-time tradition of clothing, it is optional and your choice. Please come dressed for the outdoors, weather permitting.

We also encourage you to invite former Claybanks United Methodist Church members, family members, friends, and associates. This will be an enjoyable time to be invitational and invite others to worship with us and be in community as we share a picnic meal.
