God’s Plan For Aging

God’s Plan for Aging

Most seniors never get enough exercise.

In His Wisdom, God decreed that seniors become forgetful so they would have to search for their glasses, keys and other things thus doing more walking. And God looked down and saw that it was good.

Then God saw there was another need. In His Wisdom He made seniors lose coordination so they would drop things requiring them to bend, reach & stretch.
And God looked down and saw that it was good

Then God considered the function of bladders and decided seniors would have additional calls of nature requiring more trips to the bathroom, thus providing more exercise. God looked down and saw that it was good

So if you find as you age, you are getting up and down more, remember it’s God’s will. It is all in your best interest even though you mutter under your breath.

Nine Important Facts to Remember as You Grow Older:

#9. Death is the number 1 killer in the world.

#8. Life is sexually transmitted.

#7. Good health is merely the slowest possible rate at which one can die.

#6. Men have 2 motivations: hunger and hanky panky, and they can’t tell them apart. If you see a gleam in his eyes, make him a sandwich.

#5. Give a person a fish and you feed them for a day. Teach a person to use the Internet and they won’t bother you for weeks, months, maybe years.

#4. Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in the hospital, dying of nothing.

#3. All of us could take a lesson from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism.

#2. In the 60’s, people took acid to make the world weird. Now the world is weird, and people take Prozac to make it normal.

#1. Life is like a jar of jalapeno peppers. What you do today may be a burning issue tomorrow.

THE EAGLE

THE EAGLE…

This is amazing info, especially as we get older.  It is no wonder there are scriptural references to the eagle!  It has significant symbolism to our country. What hope….!!!!

  • The eagle has the longest life-span among birds.
  • It can live up to 70 years but to reach this age, the eagle must make a hard decision.
  • In its’ 40’s its’ long and flexible talons can no longer grab prey which serves as food.
  • Its’ long and sharp beak becomes bent.
  • Its’ old-aged and heavy wings, due to their thick feathers, become stuck to its’ chest and make it difficult to fly.
  • Then, the eagle is left with only two options:  die or go through a painful process of change which lasts 150 days.
  • The process requires that the eagle fly to a mountain top and sit on its’ nest.
  • There the eagle knocks it’s beak against a rock until it plucks it out.
  • After plucking it out, the eagle will wait for a new beak to grow back and then it will pluck out its’ talons.
  • When its’ new talons grow back, the eagle starts plucking it’s old-aged feathers.
  • After five months, the eagle takes its’ famous flight of rebirth and lives for 30 more years!

Why is change needed?  Many times, in order to survive we have to start a change process.

We sometimes need to get rid of the old memories, habits, and other past traditions.  Only freed from past burdens, can we take advantage of the present.

Our lives are not determined by what happens to us but by how we handle what happens…

Not by what life brings to us, but by the attitude we bring to life.  A positive attitude causes a chain reaction of positive thoughts, events, and outcomes.  It is a catalyst, a spark that can create extraordinary results.

Isaiah 40:31

But they that wait upon the LORD
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings as eagles;
They shall run, and not be weary;
They shall walk, and not faint.

When it rains, most birds head for shelter, the eagle is the only bird that, in order to avoid the rain, starts flying above the clouds.

No wonder God wants us to spread our wings and soar with eagles!

To be remembered at Christmas:

Dear Loved Ones,

As every year, there is a celebration in my honor and I think that this year the celebration will be repeated. During this time many people shop for gifts and in every part of the world people talk about my birthday getting closer and closer.

It is really very nice to know that at least once a year some people think of me.

As you know, the celebration of my birthday began many years ago. At first people seemed to understand and be thankful for all that I did for them. But in these times no one seems to remember the reason for the celebration.

Last year there was a great feast in my honor. The dinner table was full of delicious foods, pastries, fruits, nuts and chocolates. The decorations were exquisite and there were many beautifully wrapped gifts. But I wasn’t invited. I was the guest of honor and they didn’t send me an invitation. I was left outside. I wanted to be with them and share their feast.

Since I wasn’t invited, I entered the party quietly. I stood in a corner. They were having a grand time. To top it all, a large man dressed in red, with a long white beard, entered the room crying “Ho-Ho-Ho!” All the children ran to him, as if the party were in his honor!

At midnight the people all hugged each other. I extended my arms waiting … and no one hugged me.

Suddenly they all brought out the gifts. They opened them one by one with great expectation. When all were opened, I looked to see if there was one for me.

How would you feel on your birthday if everyone shared gifts but you did not get one? Then I understood that I was not wanted at that party.

Every year it gets worse.

This Christmas, I ask you to allow me to enter  your life. I would like you to recognize that two thousand years ago I came to this world to save you.  I want you to believe this with all your heart.

I want to share something with you. Although I wasn’t invited to your parties, I am planning my own party, one that no one has every imagined. I’m still making the arrangements. Today I am sending out invitations, and there is one for you. I want to know if you wish to attend, and I will write your name in my guest book. Be prepared because when all is ready you will be part of my great party!

See you soon.
